Jordan Veretout's advisors are less than keen on their client leaving Aston Villa for Marseille, but the midfielder is open to the switch.

Marseille boss Franck Passi has focused in on Veretout and his Aston Villa team-mate Carlos Sanchez as two preferred signings ahead of the new French season.

Veretout was initially cold on the switch, but following phone coversations with Passi, is now open to heading to the Stade Velodrome, according to French sports daily L'Equipe.

However, the former Nantes star's advisors are still hindering the move and are less keen than their client on Marseille.

Veretout is on a lucrative contract until 2020 with Aston Villa, but faces the prospect of playing in the Championship if he does not quit the Villa Park side this summer.
