New Rangers signing Lee Hodson has explained that he will grab any opportunity which comes his way when he gets to play regular football for the Gers.

Hodson, 24, was acquired by Mark Warburton’s side from Championship club MK Dons for an undisclosed fee as he penned a three-year deal at Ibrox.

The full-back spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Kilmarnock last season, where he made 13 appearances in the Scottish Premiership, after making three Championship appearances for MK Dons.

Hodson, who will face competition in the full-back position from both Lee Wallace and James Tavernier, has said that he will grab the opportunities that come his way to play regularly for his new club.

The defender told the official Rangers website: “Every player wants to play but the two lads did very well last year and I have to be patient and wait for my time because they are two top quality players.

“I have to come in, bide my time and work hard in training and when I get the opportunity I will take it.

“There are two great footballers here, who proved that last season, so I need to get my head down and work hard.

“Being on loan at Killie last season helped me experience the Scottish Premiership and I know what we are going to be facing this year.”

Hodson has joined Joey Barton, Clint Hill, Niko Kranjcar, Joe Dodoo, Matt Gilks, Josh Windass, Jordan Rossiter and Matt Crooks as another summer signing of the summer, as Rangers return to the Scottish Premiership next season following their Championship triumph last season.
