Georginio Wijnaldum says he wants to make history with Liverpool after signing a five-year contract with the Merseyside giants.

The midfielder has completed a £25m switch from Newcastle United to Liverpool and in the process become Reds manager Jurgen Klopp's latest signing this summer.

Wijnaldum has set his sights high at Liverpool, using Leicester City winning the Premier League last season as an example of what can be achieved and explained he wants to make history at Anfield, a place he knows already has much history.

"Everything is possible. You look at Leicester last season, they were champions", he told LFC TV.

"They put the marker down for a lot of teams and we have to try that also. Liverpool is a club with a great history, but you want to get more history, create history, and be part of that", Liverpool's new number 5 continued.
