Juventus have identified Zenit Saint Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel as a potential replacement for Manchester United target Paul Pogba.

Manchester United have been negotiating with Juventus over the last few days for Pogba, and are confident of agreeing a world record fee with the Italian champions.




While Juventus are looking to extract the best possible deal for Pogba’s departure, the wheels are in motion to identify a replacement for the French midfielder.

And according to Italian broadcaster Mediaset Premium Sports, the Bianconeri have identified Belgian midfielder Witsel as the man who could replace Pogba in Massimiliano Allegri’s team.
 


Witsel’s future has been up for discussion for weeks, with a number of clubs linked with a move for him, including Everton and Napoli.

And in recent days even Inter Milan are said to be interested in the midfielder, with claims that his agent met the Nerazzurri hierarchy to discuss a proposed transfer.

However, Juventus are expected to make a move for the 27-year-old midfielder once they finalise an agreement to sell Pogba this summer.
