Leeds United are not chasing Icelandic full-back Haukur Hauksson, despite being claimed to be in for the AIK star.

The Whites are looking to add a right-back to the ranks and have been linked with a whole host of options, including free agent Reece Wabara and Fleetwood Town defender Conor McLaughlin.

Leeds are casting the net far and wide and it was claimed that they were going in for Hauksson, who is an Iceland international.

But while Leeds did assess the AIK defender and considered moving for him, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, they opted against it and are not pushing to sign Hauksson.

The 24-year-old joined AIK from Icelandic side KR in 2014, putting pen to paper on a deal until the end of 2018 with the Stockholm-based club.

So far this season, Hauksson has clocked up nine appearances in the Swedish top flight, the Allsvenskan, scoring three goals in the process and chipping in with a single assist.

He does not appear to have done enough to earn a switch to Leeds though and the Championship outfit will now be assessing other options as they look to sign a right-back.
