Watford have made a move for Tottenham Hotspur linked midfielder Sofiane Boufal, and have placed an offer on Lille’s table.

The 22-year-old is still recovering from a knee injury, but that hasn’t stopped him from being linked with a move away from Lille this summer, with a number of top clubs vying for his signature.

Tottenham are said to be interested in the player, and even Serie A giants Inter are believed to be tracking the Moroccan, but Boufal has insisted that he is not pushing for a move.

However, Lille could have a decision to make on his future soon, as according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, Premier League outfit Watford have slapped in an offer for the player in recent hours.

The Hornets have been following the developments closely, and have made their move by placing a €16m to €17m offer on Lille’s table recently.

The Ligue 1 outfit are said to be demanding a fee of around €20m or more for the midfielder, but Watford’s bid is close to their valuation of the player, and the Premier League giant could even match their financial expectations should their first offer be rejected.

A number of clubs have been on Boufal’s trail this summer, but Watford have made a serious move to snare him away from Lille in the next month or so.

He has a contract until 2019 with Lille.
