Zlatan Ibrahimovic was handed the number 9 shirt at Manchester United without its occupant, Anthony Martial, being told, it has been claimed.

Jose Mourinho's men tempted Ibrahimovic to Old Trafford on a free transfer following his departure from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

And the former Barcelona striker was handed the iconic number 9 shirt by the Red Devils, with Martial being moved to number 11.

The swap took place without Martial being told, according to French radio station RMC.

It is unclear how the former Monaco star feels about having the number 9 shirt taken off him and not being informed.
