Claudio Ranieri was left impressed by Celtic Park after leading his Leicester City side in a friendly at the ground against Celtic on Saturday.

The English champions locked horns with the Scottish champions in an International Champions Cup encounter which ended 1-1 and had to be settled on penalties, with Ranieri's men edging it 6-5 on spot-kicks.

For Ranieri, the game was a chance to sample the famous Celtic Park and he was not disappointed by either the stadium or the Bhoys fans.

The Italian was also pleased with the number of Leicester fans that made the trip north of the border, around 3,000.

"Fantastic, [Celtic Park is] fantastic and the Celtic fans are very, very good", Ranieri told Celtic TV.

"But I want to say thank you also to our fans who came from Leicester to watch us.

"It was a very good match and show."

Celtic have two further games to come in the tournament, both in Ireland, against Barcelona and Inter respectively.

Leicester meanwhile play French champions Paris Saint-Germain in the United States and then Barcelona in Sweden, as they build up to the new Premier League season and a bid to defend the title they clinched last term.
