Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers says the signing of defender Kolo Toure will be completed tomorrow and he believes the centre-back adds great experience to his squad at the club.

Toure is a free agent following his release by Liverpool at the end of last season and he is set to be reunited with the man who signed him for the Reds in the shape of Rodgers.

His capture will be done in time for him to be eligible for Celtic in their Champions League qualifier next Wednesday night in Kazakhstan, even though Rodgers thinks that will come too soon for the former Arsenal man.

"It should be completed tomorrow", he told a press conference following his side's friendly against Leicester City, when asked about Toure.

"I brought him to Liverpool to add that bit of experience and you saw from his impact there that he was a very important player", he continued.

"He played in the Europa League final and he was outstanding in the big games when I was there.

"He looks after himself, is a wonderful professional. He has big experience and he can really help the young players in the squad.

"I would think Wednesday would be too soon [for him to play]", Rodgers added when asked about Toure being involved in the Champions League game against Astana next week.

Toure forced his way into the Liverpool team towards the end of last season and pushed Martin Skrtel out of Jurgen Klopp's side.

And the veteran centre-back was even involved in Liverpool's Europa League final defeat to Sevilla.
