Georginio Wijnaldum has arrived in the United States to link up with his new Liverpool team-mates.

Liverpool have spent £25m to sign the Netherlands international midfielder from Newcastle United, following intense negotiations between the two clubs and interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

By the time Wijnaldum put pen to paper on his contract on Merseyside, the Liverpool squad had already jetted off to the United States for their pre-season tour, which involves games against Chelsea, AC Milan and Roma.

Now Wijnaldum has arrived in the United States and posed for a photograph with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp has talked up Wijnaldum's talents and is delighted to have added him to his squad ahead of the new season.

The midfielder was signed by Newcastle only last summer from Dutch Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven for a fee of around £15m.

He has taken the number 5 shirt at Anfield and will be keen to make an instant impact at the club, starting with the Reds' American tour.
