Leeds United CEO Ben Mansford is excited by the club's signing of Kyle Bartley, who he feels is a "man-mountain".

Bartley is one of six new arrivals at Elland Road this summer, the centre-back being snapped up on a loan deal from Whites head coach Garry Monk's former club Swansea City.

He is expected to establish himself in the heart of Leeds' defence and Mansford is delighted the Yorkshire giants were able to land him.

The CEO says he saw Bartley in action on loan at Birmingham City and was instantly impressed, something which has fuelled his expectations of the Swansea man this time around.

"I remember watching Bartley on loan at Birmingham before he returned to Swansea", Mansford explained to LUTV.

"He was a man-mountain.

"He's probably had maybe one or two injuries, but had to sit behind some really good centre-halves at Swansea, so Garry knows he's ready.

"He is quite exciting."

The 25-year-old started his career in the youth ranks at Bolton Wanderers before being plucked from the north west side by Premier League giants Arsenal.

Bartley struggled to impose himself with the Gunners and was sent out on loan spells to Sheffield United and Rangers.

He joined Swansea in 2012.
