Roma have reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign Wojciech Szczesny on loan for a further season and are now finalising the details of the switch.

Szczesny spent last term between the sticks in the Italian capital and impressed, leading to Roma wanting to keep him into the 2016/17 season, something the Poland international was also keen on.

It has taken time however for Roma to thrash out a deal with Arsenal and according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the Giallorossi have agreed to pay a loan fee of around €1m for the goalkeeper.

The Giallorossi are now working to finalise the details and hope that the agreement should be completed by Tuesday, allowing Szczesny to then head to the United States to link up with the squad.

Roma are in the United States for a friendly against Liverpool on 2nd August, while they then take on Canadian side Montreal Impact on 4th August.
