Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel is ready to turn down a move to Everton this summer in order to join Juventus, according to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

The 27-year-old midfielder’s future is tipped to be away from Zenit Saint Petersburg, and he has been linked with a move to a number of clubs across Europe.

Inter Milan are keen on signing him, and Everton’s long term interest in the Belgian culminated in them reaching an agreement with Zenit over a fee worth €30m in recent days.

And Everton are hoping to hold talks with his advisers soon in order to convince the player to move to England, but it seems Witsel still prefers a transfer to Italy.

The midfielder is aware of Juventus’ interest in him, and despite Everton agreeing a fee with Zenit, the player is keener on completing a transfer to Turin in the coming days.
