Manchester City target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has claimed that he will only leave his present club Borussia Dortmund if he is given the chance to play for Real Madrid.

The Premier League giants have been linked with a move for the striker with suggestions the Citizens are ready to meet Dortmund's demands for the prolific hitman.

In what could now be seen as a killer blow for Pep Guardiola and his team, the player himself has reiterated his desire to stay on at the club and only leave if he is wanted by the Madrid giants.

Speaking about his future plans, the Gabon international said that there is no truth to reports linking him with a move away from the club this summer. In keeping with his grandfather's final wish, Aubameyang insists that he hopes to play in Spain one day for Real Madrid.

Speaking about a possible move Aubameyang explained to German broadcaster ZDF: "This year, no.

"But the only club I would leave Dortmund for are Real Madrid. If they don't come calling, I don't leave.

"My grandfather, the dad of my mum, always wished that I would play in Spain. Two years ago, when he died, I promised him that someday I will play for Real – and I work hard to reach that goal.

"Real Madrid is my main goal, but at the moment I like it in Dortmund. If there is a chance to go to Madrid, I will say immediately yes – but at the moment there is no contact."
