Spanish giants Barcelona are interested in acquiring the services of AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca if they miss out on their primary attacking target, according to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo.

Bacca, 29, scored 18 times for AC Milan last season in Serie A in a total of 38 appearances, as the Rossoneri finished seventh in the league, behind the likes of Juventus, Roma, Napoli and Fiorentina.

The Colombian has rejected Premier League side West Ham's overtures so far, though the Hammers are still hoping he has a rethink, and is keen on moving to a club that will play in the Champions League next season.

Luis Enrique’s men are set to give competition to Serie A giants Napoli in the race to sign the forward, for whom Maurizio Sarri’s men have had a €20m plus a player bid rejected already, it is claimed.

The Naples based club could make a second offer for the Rossoneri star, if they fail in their pursuit of Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi.
