Hertha Berlin are assessing Liverpool midfielder Allan and the club's coach Pal Dardai is satisfied with the Brazilian's display in his first training session.

Liverpool snapped Allan up from Brazilian side Internacional last year and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has talked up the talent of the central midfielder.

But the Brazilian has had trouble getting a work permit in the United Kingdom and Liverpool have sent him out on loan spells in Finland and Belgium.

Now the 19-year-old is training with Hertha Berlin and took part in his first session for the club on Tuesday.

"He is here for this week with us", Dardai told German news agency DPA.

"It has been agreed between our sporting director Michael Preetz and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp", the Hertha Berlin coach added.

And Dardai was happy with Allan's performance during his first training session, though he is not getting carried away.

"For his first training session he was not bad, but let's not overstate things", the 40-year-old former Hungary international midfielder added.

Hertha Berlin finished in seventh spot in the Bundesliga last season and regular football for the club would represent a big step up for Allan, having played in only Belgium and Finland so far.

It is unclear whether they would look to sign Allan on loan from Liverpool or explore a permanent deal with the Reds, if they are impressed enough to try to keep him at the club.
