Jordan Rossiter has revealed that he was wowed by the atmosphere at Ibrox when making his debut for Rangers against Stranraer earlier this week.

Rangers pounced to snap up the midfielder from Liverpool earlier this summer, but he has had to wait for his first taste of the club's famous Ibrox ground.

And Rossiter has not been left disappointed following his bow, delighting at the atmosphere and explaining he loved every minute of life as a Rangers player on the hallowed turf. He also saluted the fans for rolling out the red carpet.

"It was a great reception, the fans here are brilliant", he told the club's site.

"I knew that because everyone always talks about Rangers fans and how big they are and that they are one of the best in the world so I really enjoyed it", Rossiter explained.

"The atmosphere was unbelievable, it’s probably the one of the biggest crowds that I’ve played in front of and the atmosphere was great and all of the players did well."

And Rossiter was pleased to be back in club action after a summer break, saying: "It was really good to get on and get your first few touches of the ball so you can work your way into the game and I loved every minute of it."

Rangers have won all four of their Scottish League Cup group games, beating Motherwell, Annan Athletic, East Sterlingshire and Stranraer.

The Gers are now into the last 16 of the revamped competition and will be looking to make further progress.
