Rangers have loaned young striker Ryan Hardie to St. Mirren until the new year.

Hardie had been hoping for the chance to make an impression in Rangers' first team this season after having spent time on loan at Raith Rovers last term.

But Gers boss Mark Warburton has decided that Hardie's career progress would be better served by a loan spell with Alex Rae's men.

Hardie will look to clock up regular first team football with the Buddies in the Scottish Championship, ahead of returning to Rangers a better player.

The striker scored six times in ten games for Raith Rovers last season and St. Mirren boss Rae will be hoping he continues his goalscoring form at the Paisley 2021 Stadium.

Hardie made his Rangers debut in the 2014/15 campaign in a League Cup fixture, while his first start for the Gers in a league game was away to Dumbarton, a match in which he scored twice.

He follows another Rangers starlet to St. Mirren, with Tom Walsh already at the Buddies.
