Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has admitted that he is relishing the chance to strike up a good partnership with new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Ibrahimovic, 34, was recently acquired on a free transfer by the Red Devils after his contract at Paris Saint-Germain ran out and the forward penned a one-year deal with Manchester United, who sacked Louis van Gaal after failing to finish in the top four last season.
Rooney, who did not take part in Manchester United’s 4-1 friendly loss to Borussia Dortmund, is set to have the chance to play alongside Ibrahimovic over pre-seeason.
The Englishman, who captained the England side that was knocked out by Iceland in Euro 2016, has said that he is looking forward to forming a good partnership with the Swede and hopes to be successful with him.
He said in a Q&A via his club's site: “I think he has been one of the best strikers in world football over the last 10 years and he has always won trophies everywhere he has been.
