NEC Nijmegen coach Peter Hyballa has called in a favour from friend Jurgen Klopp to take Liverpool talent Taiwo Awoniyi to the Netherlands.

The Dutch side have been looking to strengthen their attack, a need which became even more pressing following the loss of Anthony Limbombe to Club Brugge recently.

NEC coach Hyballa worked under Klopp at Borussia Dortmund until departing the Ruhr giants in 2010 – and the 40-year-old German has made the most of his friendship with the Liverpool manager to bag Awoniyi, according to Voetbal International.

The 18-year-old is set to join the Dutch club on loan, bolstering their attack.

However, the Liverpool talent has little experience at the highest level and spent last term with German second tier side FSV Frankfurt, where he scored once in 14 games.

Awoniyi joined Liverpool last summer, but was quickly sent on loan to Germany.
