Oldham Athletic are one of a number of clubs to have made enquiries for Leeds United winger Jordan Botaka.

The DR Congo international was signed by Leeds last summer from Dutch side Excelsior when they could not land their first choice wing target Anthony Limbombe.

Botaka struggled to nail down a starting spot at Leeds last season and was even forced to make do with Under-21 football at points during the campaign.

It is unclear whether new Leeds head coach Garry Monk sees him as part of his plans moving forward, but several clubs are alive to the possibility of signing the winger.

Indeed, Oldham have asked Leeds about taking Botaka on loan, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, but no deal has been agreed between the two clubs.

It also remains to be seen whether Botaka will fancy a drop down into England's third tier, especially as a little over a year ago he was turning out in the Dutch top flight.

Earlier this summer, Botaka vowed to fight for his place at Leeds.
