Bari are ready to provide competition to Leeds United for the signature of Brazilian winger Raphael Martinho this summer, according to Italian daily La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno.

After spending just one season at Carpi, the 28-year-old is set to terminate his contract and move to a new club during the current transfer window.

Injuries and form didn’t allow him to settle down at Carpi, and it has been claimed that despite an underwhelming last campaign, the winger is generating keen interest this summer.

Leeds were interested in Martinho this time last year, and the club are reportedly again considering making a move for the Brazilian in the coming month or so.

However, the Whites are set to face competition from Serie B outfit Bari, who are keeping close watch on developments regarding the Brazilian winger and Carpi.

Carpi's sporting director had Martinho in his ranks when at Hellas Verona and is now actively eyeing a reunion with the Brazilian.

The winger has been playing in Italy since joining Catania in 2011, and have played in the top two tiers of Italian football for a number of clubs.
