Rangers loanee Ryan Hardie admits that settling down at St. Mirren hasn’t been difficult for him as he already knows a few members of the squad.

The Scotland Under-19 international joined St. Mirren from Rangers on a loan deal earlier this week, and is hoping to continue his development under the stewardship of Alex Rae.

The youngster impressed during his loan spell at Raith Rovers in the second half of last season, and will be hoping to do the same at St. Mirren Park during the 2016/17 campaign.

Coming into a new environment is always challenging for any player, especially for a youngster, but Hardie admits that it hasn’t been that difficult as he already knows a few of the boys in the St. Mirren squad, which has helped him to settle down.

“Surprisingly, settling in was a lot easier than I thought”, the youngster told St. Mirren’s official website.

“I already knew a few of the boys, Tom Walsh is already on loan from Rangers and I know Calum Gallagher and wee Morgy so I knew quite a few of the boys.

“I really enjoyed training this morning and it is good to join up with the team.”

Hardie has made ten senior appearances for Rangers so far, but played regular football for Raith Rovers during his loan stint last season.

He will be hoping to add a lot more games to his 16 Scottish Championship appearances at St. Mirren.
