Arsenal linked Edinson Cavani has insisted that he wants to continue at Paris Saint-Germain and even indicated that he could sign a new contract with the club.

The Uruguay hitman has been consistently linked with a move away from PSG for over a year, with a number of big European clubs being mentioned as his possible destination.

Juventus have been heavily linked with a move for the 29-year-old, but with Gonzalo Higuain joining them for big money, the Italian champions are unlikely to sign another big name striker.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in Cavani, and with the club in the market for a forward, there has been speculation that Arsene Wenger could splash the cash for the South American.

However, Cavani stressed that he has no plans to leave the French champions any time soon, and also indicated that he could even sign a new deal with them in the near future.

“When the club signed me, they introduced me to a project, and I really wanted to be a part of it.

“I have two years left on my contract, and it is up to PSG whether they want to extend it or not.”

Cavani joined PSG from Napoli in 2013, and has netted 81 goals in 148 appearances for the club thus far.
