Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen has revealed that he is feeling much better and is expecting to be available for selection against Atletico Madrid in a friendly clash on Friday.

The Danish international missed his side's first International Champions Cup match against Juventus on Tuesday, a match that they lost 2-1.

The 24-year-old though has now recovered his fitness and was involved in training at AAMI Park on Thursday.

With their second match scheduled to be played against Spanish side Atletico Madrid, the former Ajax man is hopeful that he will have a role to play as he looks forward to being part of a successful campaign with the Lilywhites next term.

“I feel much better now”, Eriksen said at a press conference ahead of their training.

“We had training after we arrived and straight after I felt a little sick and had stomach pains, but I feel much better.

“Hopefully I’ll now be involved and make up my [playing] minutes.”

The attacking midfielder was an important influence for Mauricio Pochettino and his team last season, playing an overall 47 matches and scoring eight goals.

Just as importantly he was also involved in setting up 16 more goals for his team-mates.
