Leeds United will put experienced Italian full-back Gabriele Perico through his paces one more time before deciding whether to sign him, it has been claimed.
The 32-year-old former Cagliari man played for Leeds Under-21s in a friendly away at Farsley Celtic last night, as head coach Garry Monk looked on to assess his qualities.
It had been suggested Leeds were due to offer a deal to Perico, who is a free agent, but it appears the Whites want one more look in a game situation before pulling the contract trigger.
Now Perico is set to play in this weekend's friendly at Elland Road against Atalanta, according to Radio Yorkshire, before Leeds make a final call.
The Whites have been looking for a new right-back, but so far have been unable to identify a target that meets with Monk's approval.

Perico is someone Leeds owner Massimo Cellino knows well due to his spell at Cagliari; Cellino was the owner of the Italian club during the full-back's stint.
He is available on a free transfer this summer, but following the ending of emergency loans, Leeds will want to be absolutely sure he is the right addition heading into the new season.
