Leeds United youngster Ronaldo Vieira has hailed team-mate Luke Murphy and is looking to learn from the former Crewe Alexandra man.

Vieira got his first taste of senior team football in the very last game of last season, when former Whites head coach Steve Evans gave him his bow against Preston North End at Deepdale.

The defensive midfielder has been promoted to the first team squad and has trained under the watchful eye of new head coach Garry Monk all summer, featuring in the side's friendlies.

He has been able to take in his team-mates skills at close quarters and Murphy has stood out.

"I look at Luke Murphy", he told LUTV, when asked who he looks up to.

"Before he even gets the ball he knows what he's going to do. So I'm just trying to learn with him."

However, it is not just within the Leeds squad that Vieira looks for inspiration, with Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos also catching his eye when it comes to a player who can spread passes after regaining possession.

"If I was thinking of more players [I look up to] then I would say Toni Kroos.

"His vision and passing…", Vieira added.

The young midfielder will be looking to be involved in Leeds' final pre-season friendly on Saturday against Serie A side Atalanta.
