Nottingham Forest are closing in on the signing of free agent Armand Traore, who counts Arsenal and QPR amongst his former clubs.

The City Ground outfit are looking to strengthen their options as the new Championship season looms large on the horizon.
 



Traore has just signed off on a five-year spell at QPR and is available this summer as a free agent.

And according to the Nottingham Post, Nottingham Forest are closing in on snapping up the 26-year-old, who can play all down the left hand side.
 


Forest are likely to see the former Arsenal man as primarily a left-back.

Traore started his career in the youth ranks at Racing Paris before moving on to Monaco.

It was at the Stade Louis II his potential was spotted by Arsene Wenger, who spirited him away to Arsenal in 2005, placing him in the Gunners youth team.

The defender, who represented France at youth level on the international stage, but has been capped at senior level by Senegal, has had loan spells with Portsmouth and Juventus.
