Jordan Rossiter feels that Rangers are just as big a club as Liverpool.

The highly rated young midfielder swapped Liverpool for Rangers earlier this summer and is already sinking his teeth into the challenge at Ibrox, with Scottish Premiership football on the menu for next season.

Rossiter has already made his Ibrox bow, featuring in a Scottish League Cup win over Stranraer, and he is in no doubt as to the size of the club he has joined.

"Rangers is just as big a club as Liverpool", Rossiter told a press conference this afternoon, adding: "There are a lot of similarities between Glasgow and Liverpool – when I heard of the interest there was only one decision to make.

"There are massive players here with big personalities and we need that to get us through", the midfielder said.

Rossiter is also happy with the chance to learn from experienced midfielder Joey Barton, while he handed notable mentions to Niko Kranjcar and Andy Halliday for rolling out the red carpet.

"Joey's a great player and he has really helped me out since I came up here. Likewise Niko and Andy Halliday", the 19-year-old added.

Rossiter came through the youth ranks at Liverpool and during his early days was compared to Steven Gerrard.

The tigerish midfielder has represented England through to Under-19 level.
