Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has expressed his confidence about getting the job done against Astana next week at Celtic Park.

The Scottish champions were held to a 1-1 draw by the Kazakhstan side on Wednesday night in the first leg of their third qualifying round tie in the Champions League, with the 25-year-old netting the all important away goal for the visitors.

Going into the second match at home next week, the striker insists that there is no reason why they can't get the job done and move through to the next round.

"We got that away goal and now we'll look to build on that next week", Griffiths was quoted as saying by STV.

"We'll come out the traps flying, like we did against Lincoln and hopefully we will get that early goal and try and kill their confidence."

Astana striker Junior Kabananga was impressive on the night and while recognising his contribution, Griffths expressed his confidence about seeing his team's defenders countering the threat on the given day.

"The big man was a handful up front for them, but I have no doubts about our defence next week and the way we set up and I think next week we'll definitely finish the job off."

Speaking from a personal aspect, the Scottish international stressed his desire to continue with his last season's goalscoring form and also expressed his hope to see new signing Moussa Dembele score during the season.

"The big man [Dembele] is a good player and I'm sure that when he gets that first goal he'll go on a run.

"Thankfully tonight the chance fell to my feet and I've put it away.

"I just want to continue my form from last season and if the big man can chip in with a few goals that'll be great."
