Leeds United are snapping up an as yet unnamed experienced international player, dubbed a "top signing", it has been claimed.

Whites head coach Garry Monk has already added six players to his squad this summer, but is keen to make further additions, if possible before the club start their Championship campaign next Sunday at Loftus Road against QPR.

And according to Radio Yorkshire, Leeds have already all but secured the signing of one new player, who is an experienced international.

While the player in question remains unnamed, he has been dubbed a "top signing", fueling speculation as to who might have come in through the door at Elland Road.

There were no clues on Saturday as Leeds signed off on their pre-season preparations by beating Serie A side Atalanta 2-1 at Elland Road.

A potential signing was on show during the game, with right-back Gabriele Perico clocking up 45 minutes as he aimed to impress Monk and secure a contract at the club.

Perico is a free agent, however he has never been capped at international level for Italy, making him unlikely to be the unnamed new signing.
