Leeds United are waiting on finalising paperwork from Qatari to seal Pablo Hernandez's loan to the club and whether it is done will have the final say on whether his signing can be announced today.

The Yorkshire giants have agreed a deal with Qatari side Al Arabi to loan the Spanish winger until January, at which time the deal can be transformed into a permanent switch.

Hernandez spent last season on loan at Rayo Vallecano, who were relegated from La Liga, and a move to Leeds will see him reunite with his former manager at Swansea City, Garry Monk.

Leeds fans are desperate for the deal to be confirmed today, but according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, whether that happens or not will depend on whether the club can finalise the paperwork from Qatar today; Hernandez has already passed a medical.

Hernandez joined Swansea from Valencia in 2012 for a then club record fee for the Welsh outfit of £5.5m and remained at the Liberty Stadium until heading for Al Arabi in 2014.

Two years on from his last experience in the English game, Leeds will be hoping Hernandez can quickly again slot into the quicker pace of football, as well as adapting to the physical nature of the Championship.

The 31-year-old will become Leeds' seventh signing of the summer and fans will hope he can feature next Sunday when the Whites kick off their Championship campaign away at Loftus Road against QPR.
