Manchester City have completed the signing of winger Gabriel Jesus from Brazilian outfit Palmeiras.

Pep Guardiola's men are paying £27m plus add-ons for the highly rated 19-year-old, who has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Citizens.

However, Jesus will stay with Palmeiras until the end of the Brazilian season, meaning he will only arrive at Manchester City when it concludes in December.

Jesus had been linked with Spanish giants Barcelona, but Manchester City have acted quickly and pushed a deal over the line for the youngster.

The winger is currently the top goalscorer in Brazil's Serie A in the current campaign, however he has yet to have his progress reward with a senior international cap for the South American country.

Jesus is delighted with the move, to a club he believes to be one of the best in the world, and believes he will benefit from playing under Guardiola.

He told the Citizens' official site: "Manchester City is one of the best clubs in the world so I'm really pleased to sign.

"We have many great talents in the team and a fantastic manager in Pep Guardiola that I can learn so much from.

"I'm looking forward to showing the City fans what I can do and I think we'll have a great future together!" Jesus added.
