John Stones admits he will to have to work hard to get into the Manchester City team after completing his switch from Everton.

Manchester City let the cat out the bag regarding Stones earlier today when his name cropped up on their Champions League squad list published by UEFA.

And the club finally officially confirmed the defender’s signing from Everton earlier this morning, to end all speculation surrounding the 22-year-old’s future.

The defender joined Pep Guardiola’s side on a six-year deal, and the England international expressed his delight at signing for a club who are ambitious, and are on the right trajectory.

Stones told the club’s official website: "I'm absolutely delighted to sign for City and now the deal is done I'm looking forward to the next stage in my career.
