Sunderland are showing interest in Torino full-back Davide Zappacosta.

New Black Cats boss David Moyes knows he is racing against the clock to reinforce his squad this month ahead of the long slog of a Premier League season.

He has already brought in defender Papy Djilobodji from Chelsea and is expected to sign Yann M'Vila from Rubin Kazan.

Now, according to Italian outlet Gazza Mercato, Sunderland are shopping in Italy and are keen on Zappacosta.

The 24-year-old currently turns out for Serie A side Torino, having joined the Turin-based club from Atalanta last year.

Zappacosta has continually been tipped for senior international honours, but despite being heavily capped at Under-21 level has yet to be handed his senior debut.

Former Italy coach Antonio Conte kept Zappacosta in reserve for this summer's European Championship in France in a sign a senior cap is not far off.

It remains to be seen whether Torino will be willing to listen to offers for Zappacosta.
