Christian Benteke is still waiting for Liverpool and Crystal Palace to thrash out a final agreement for his transfer, according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws.

Liverpool are keen to offload the striker, for whom they paid £32.5m to Aston Villa last summer, and Crystal Palace are the club who have shown the appetite to sign the forward this month.

The Premier League duo are reportedly expected to thrash out an agreement for the player in the coming days, but it seems the negotiations are yet set to reach their conclusion.

It has been claimed that Benteke is still at Liverpool, and is eagerly waiting for the clubs to thrash out a deal as he is looking to rekindle his career at a new club.

Former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers sanctioned Liverpool’s move for the player last summer, but since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp in October last summer, his opportunities nosedived.

The Belgian rarely started for Klopp’s Liverpool last season, and it became clear the Belgian is not the kind of striker the German wants in his team.

And with Crystal Palace desperate to sign a striker this summer, it seems Liverpool have found a willing buyer for Benteke.

Liverpool are unwilling to suffer a substantial loss on Benteke, and are looking to recoup as much of the £32.5m they spent on him.
