Charlton Athletic manager Russell Slade is delighted with the loan capture of Jordan Botaka from Leeds United and feels the winger can be a real threat for the Addicks.

Botaka has found first team opportunities limited at Elland Road and despite new head coach Garry Monk having only been in his post for a matter of months, the former Swansea City boss has opted to ship the winger out.

He will spend the season on loan at Charlton as they look to bounce straight back up to the Championship.

And Slade is pleased to have secured the services of someone he feels can help the Addicks' push for promotion.

"Jordan is a strong boy, he’s really pacey and quick. He’s very impressive in one-on-one situations and likes to take players on", Slade told his club's official site.

The Charlton boss also believes that Botaka is nowhere near the finished article and is still in the process of adapting to English football.

"He’s still young at 23 and is still learning about the game over here.

"He could be a real threat at this level because he’s very strong when you give him the ball – he’s very creative and we’re very happy to have him for the season ahead", he added.

Botaka will be looking to be involved when Charlton host Northampton Town this weekend.
