Former Manchester United star Andy Cole says that Jose Mourinho’s transfer business reminds him of Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign at the club.

Mourinho, who has acquired the services of Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba at his new club, publicly stated during his first press conference as the Red Devils boss that he had identified four players as potential transfers for the Old Trafford based side.

Manchester United, who acquired Ibrahimovic for free after his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expired at the end of last season, recently confirmed the £89m capture of French midfielder Pogba, who has been snapped up from Italian champions Juventus.

Cole, who plied his trade at Old Trafford for six seasons from 1995 to 2001 under Ferguson, has compared Mourinho’s nous in the transfer market to the Scot's time at the club.

The former Red Devil told the official Manchester United website: “Yeah I have been impressed, you have got to be.
