Rangers manager Mark Warburton says that he needs to make two further signings this summer, bringing in a defensive reinforcement and an extra attacker.

Warburton has been busy in the summer transfer market so far, however he still feels that with a long season ahead fresh faces are needed, as the Gers aim to challenge Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and also make progress in the domestic cup competitions.

The Rangers manager ideally wants two further signings before the curtain is drawn on his club's transfer dealings until the winter.

He told a press conference this afternoon: "We need one more up front and one more at the back."

And the Rangers manager insists that the club are working busily to land their targets.

"We are working hard behind the scenes to get deals done", he added.

However, despite striker Martyn Waghorn picking up an injury which puts him out for the next two weeks and Warburton admitting he wants another forward, the Rangers manager says he has no problem trusting young Joe Dodoo, who arrived from Leicester earlier this summer.

"Joe is more than ready to step in", he insisted.

"We have options up front, but we need one more."

Rangers are next in action this coming Saturday when they play Dundee in an away league fixture.
