Juventus have rejected a bid from Arsenal for midfielder Mario Lemina, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.

The defensive midfielder’s future at Juventus has been under the scanner all summer, with a number of clubs across Europe being linked with a move for the Gabon international.

Juventus have been willing to listen offers for the player, and it has been claimed that they recently received a bid for Lemina from Premier League giants Arsenal regarding a summer move.

However, the Italian champions knocked back Arsenal’s offer worth €16m, and it has been suggested that the Bianconeri are not willing to entertain bids lower than €20m.

Arsenal are yet to go back to the table with a new offer, and another Premier League club in Watford are willing to match Juventus’ asking price, but are having the hard time convincing the player to move.

Lemina is unwilling to join the Premier League minnows, and is said to be keen to continue at Juventus next season.

Schalke have also been monitoring the situation closely, but are yet to take any concrete steps towards signing the 22-year-old defensive midfielder this month.

Lemina joined Juventus on an initial loan deal last summer from Marseille, before the Italian champions made the move permanent earlier this year for a transfer fee of €9.5m.
