Saint-Etienne are unlikely to make any concrete move for Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout before their Europa League playoff tie later this month.

Aston Villa snapped up the central midfielder from FC Nantes last summer, but the Frenchman could do very little to stop the Villans from suffering relegation from the Premier League.

Veretout is one of the player who are not too keen on a season in the Championship, and he has been looking for a way out of the club in the current transfer window.

Saint-Etienne are interested in taking the midfielder back to France this summer, but it seems they won’t be making a move in the next few days.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, the Ligue 1 outfit will only be taking their major decisions of the transfer market after their Europa League qualifier later this month.
