Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has issued a warning to clubs hoping to take advantage of his excess of strikers this summer, amid Crystal Palace and West Brom wanting Christian Benteke, to insist that the Reds will not let players go on the cheap.

Benteke is expected to leave Anfield this summer and has interest from Crystal Palace and West Brom, while there are also question marks hanging over Danny Ings; Mario Balotelli also appears surplus to requirements at Liverpool.

Klopp though thinks the trio are quality strikers and as such he is determined that Liverpool will not offload them for bargain fees, warning suitors not to expect transfer market presents.

Asked about Benteke's potential move to Crystal Palace, Klopp told a press conference: "Christian Benteke, Mario Balotelli, Danny Ings, they are really, really good strikers. They haven't missed anything of their qualities in the last year, half a year, if anything they have got better at some things.

"But in the end, having six strikers is a little bit too comfortable", he continued.

"If anybody thinks because we have more than one striker we make presents to other clubs then that's the biggest misunderstanding in football", Klopp added.

Liverpool are reported to be looking to recoup the £32.5m they paid Aston Villa last summer for Benteke, although the situations around Ings and Balotelli are less clear.

Ings missed the majority of last season with injury and has been bright for Liverpool in pre-season.

Balotelli though is training with the reserves after being frozen out of the first team picture.
