Liverpool and West Ham have both been linked with Martin Odegaard, but could well miss out on the Norwegian talent as Zinedine Zidane is due to pick where the midfielder will move to on loan.

Real Madrid coach Zidane has already advised the 17-year-old to move on this summer as he feels Odegaard needs regular first team football which cannot be provided at the Bernabeu.

A loan switch is on the horizon with Liverpool and West Ham linked, along with several German clubs.

However, according to Ouest-France, Ligue 1 side Rennes have entered the race and feel they are well positioned to scoop up Odegaard.

And that is become Zidane will have the final say over where Odegaard heads on loan, with the Frenchman thought to favour sending the Norwegian to France, where he can keep a close eye on his progress.
