Inter are hoping to tempt Tottenham Hotspur into parting with Jan Vertonghen by offering Marcelo Brozovic in part exchange.

Brozovic has been tipped to leave Inter this summer as he is keen on a new and improved contract which the Nerazzurri are not willing to hand him.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with the Croatian midfielder, while Arsenal too have had their name thrown into the mix, but it is Spurs who are being offered Brozovic.

New Inter coach Frank de Boer wants his former Ajax charge Vertonghen at the San Siro and, according to Sky Italia, Brozovic could go the other way.

It is claimed that Spurs are not convinced by Inter's proposal yet, but the Nerazzurri are expected to keep plugging away.

De Boer is a firm fan of Vertonghen and is desperate to add him to the ranks at Inter.

But the Belgian formed a superb partnership with countryman Toby Alderweireld for Spurs last term and the White Hart Lane outfit will be reluctant to change a solid backline.

Brozovic has also been the subject of interest from Everton and Stoke City.
