Napoli are in pole position for the signature of Torino defender Nikola Maksimovic, who has also been linked with a move to West Ham and Chelsea.

The 24-year-old defender’s future is looking increasing away from Napoli, as the relationship between the club and the player has touched new depths in recent days.




Torino boss Sinisa Mihajlovic slammed the Serbian last week for not turning up for training, and things have got worse, as he has been missing from the training ground since last Friday.

The club are ready to sell the player, and has attracted keen interest from Napoli, who are looking to sign a defender this summer.
 


And despite interest from Chelsea and West Ham, according to Tuttosport, the Serie A giants are currently leading the chase for the wantaway Torino defender at the moment.

The Turin-based club are looking for a fee of around €25m for a player, who the club feel has behaved unprofessionally, and has made his position at Torino untenable.

West Ham took note of the rumblings in Italy, and recently contacted Torino to discuss the possibility of signing the defender. Chelsea have also shown an interest, but they are currently pursuing other options.

With no concrete offers from the English clubs on Torino’s table, Napoli are looking to take advantage and the get the deal over the line for Maksimovic soon.
