Sources at the Newcastle United end are now confirming that the club are keen on FC Utrecht striker Sebastien Haller.

The Frenchman has been linked with two English sides this summer in the shape of Everton and Sunderland, though neither have made progress towards a deal for the striker in recent weeks.

It emerged in France earlier today that Newcastle have lodged an enquiry over Haller as they look to take him to St. James' Park.

And now, according to local daily the Chronicle, sources at the Magpies end have indeed confirmed that Haller is firmly on their radar.

Utrecht signed the 22-year-old Frenchman from Auxerre, at first on loan, in 2014 and he has flourished in Dutch football.
