Besiktas are in talks with Manchester City for the signature of out-of-favour French playmaker Samir Nasri this summer.

The Frenchman found himself out of Pep Guardiola’s plans this summer after he returned to pre-season training overweight, and has been shunted out of the first team squad.

Nasri, like some of his experienced Manchester City team-mates, is on the chopping block at Etihad, and is expected to be out of the club by the end of the window.

There is speculation that Inter Milan and AC Milan could look to snap him up in the last stretch of the window, but according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Besiktas are currently putting in all the legwork for Nasri.

The Turkish giants have been in talks with Manchester City over a proposed deal for the Frenchman and met the Citizens again last night to finalise an agreement that would see the Frenchman move to Turkey this summer.

An initial loan plus purchase option is being discussed and the Turkish giants are hoping to close out a deal with Manchester City early next week.

Nasri is also ready to move to Turkey to play regular football, and is aware that under Guardiola he won’t be getting too many opportunities to impress this season.
