Liverpool are one of three clubs keen on Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes, as the race for the Argentine's signature hots up in the last stretch of the transfer window.

Paredes is a product of Boca Juniors' youth academy, but landed in Italy, initiially on loan, at Chievo, due to Roma having a lack of spots for non-EU players in their squad.
 



The 22-year-old impressed while on another loan stint, with Empoli, last term and he is now attracting interest from a clutch of clubs.

According to Sky Italia, three clubs are now showing serious interest in Paredes, a group comprised of AC Milan, Liverpool and Leicester City.
 


It remains to be seen if Roma can be convinced to part with the bright Argentine talent before the window slams shut at the end of this month.

Paredes cost the Giallorossi a fee of just over €6m to sign from Boca Juniors and the club may be offered a substantial profit on their investment.

The defensively minded midfielder turned out for Roma in their 4-0 destruction of Udinese in their Serie A opener on Saturday, clocking up all 90 minutes.

He also featured in the first leg of their Champions League playoff round tie against FC Porto.
