FC Utrecht striker Sebastien Haller is becoming annoyed at the constant transfer speculation swirling around him this summer.

Haller has recently been linked with a number of clubs, including Monaco, Sporting Lisbon and Southampton – but it is Newcastle United who have been leading the chase for his signature.

It has even been suggested that Haller was called personally by Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez, with the Spaniard attempting to sell a move to St. James' Park to the Frenchman.

Haller has rubbished talk he has spoken with Benitez and explained he is happy to stay at Utrecht if a move does not come about, with the transfer stories annoying him.

"That's going around on Twitter and Instagram, huh?" he told FOX Sports when asked about the rumoured conversation with Benitez.

"That makes it awkward.

"If you believe everything, I'd have already been at FC Barcelona", Haller joked.

"But I feel good at Utrecht.

"I do not have to leave.

"It's a bit annoying though. I concentrate on the matches with Utrecht and my own jobs.

"I feel really good and I want to help the team like I did last season", the French striker added.

Haller, 22, hit the back of the net an impressive 24 times in 42 games for Utrecht last season, something which has attracted a number of clubs in the current transfer window.

And he has started the current campaign in the same fashion, bagging two in two.
