Simone Zaza's father says his son is taking interest from West Ham United "very seriously" as the Juventus striker ponders leaving Turin.

The Italy international had seemed set to join Bundesliga club Wolfsburg and even flew to Germany to talk terms with the Volkswagen Arena outfit.

However, his father says Wolfsburg did not present the offer which was expected and as such his son could not move to Germany, with talks unlikely to be restarted.

Antonio Zaza told Gazza Mercato: "Simone went to Germany with his best friend to see the situation for himself, but we found on the table a contract proposal very different from that envisaged at the beginning.

"It was far from our expectations and we were far from their expectations. [So we are] unlikely to reopen [the move] under these conditions", he added.

West Ham though, who have recently returned to Juventus seeking to do a deal for Zaza, is a possibility which the striker is taking seriously, his father says; Tottenham Hotspur have also enquired, but it is West Ham doing the legwork.

However, he stressed the importance of Juventus reaching an agreement with the Hammers before anything can happen.

"West Ham is a welcome solution, something more concrete", Antonio explained.

"We must see what Juventus do, but shortly we will have news.

"It [London] is a solution we take very seriously."

Zaza's father claims his son would be prepared to stay in Italy, but Juventus do not want to strengthen sides that might later fight them for the Serie A title.

"Simone is having a quiet time at professional level. I should mention that he still has four years left on his contract with Juventus and would willingly remain in Turin to make his contribution.

"The Italian market offers few economic opportunities and then Juventus do not want to give Simone to a competitor – Milan, Napoli, Roma would be options.

"We'll see what happens."

Zaza struggled to command a regular starting spot at Juventus last season and his situation is now expected to be worse following the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain.
